The LIRR has recently painted 2 yard switcher diesels in the classic ORANGE/GREY paint scheme complete with the colorful 'Dashing Dan' logo. Normally assigned to HAROLD Tower as protect locomotives in the LIRR's electrified 3rd rail district, these diesels can operate throughout the LIRR Rail System. The prototype LIRR #102 was also named for LIRR employee Lawrence C. Vedilago (see small photo to left) and this is also on the RMT-92211 LIRR MP-15 diesel. Expected delivery in Spring 2012. |
