Each car is painted in authentic TEXAS SPECIAL colors of SILVER and RED with RED lettering. Both car sets replicate the actual TEXAS SPECIAL passenger car paint scheme, a train jointly operated by the MISSOURI-KANSAS & TEXAS/KATY/MKT RR and the St. Louis & San Francisco/SL-SF/FRISCO RR. Each car continues the original K-line 'TEXAS SPECIAL' set that was issued as a Limited Edition in 1994-1995 but now features new roadnumbers and authentic prototypical SL-SF car names that will allow adding to or creating a new 'TEXAS SPECIAL' train. Prototypically, each railroad, MKT and SL-SF, supplied a full set of passenger cars to equip this train. Each railroad, while using the exact same paint scheme, identified each car with a different roadnumber and car name along with each railroad's initials in the upper letterboard. For the locomotives, both railroad's herald was depicted on each locomotive. Delivery is expected in Spring 2012, however quantities will be limited. Cars are sold only as a SET.
