ARISTO CRAFT celebrates their 75th anniversary this year and has been an innovative leader in the radio-control field worldwide. The TRAIN ENGINEER technology expands R/C into model railroading and offers endless operating possibilities for your toy train layout.

At the recent OGR Forum Meeting in York, PA on April 23, 2010, RMT announced the Train Engineer Control System to those present. With the new RMT + ARISTO CRAFT marketing co-operation, this ARISTO CRAFT control system is now being introduced to the 0/0-27 toy train operator.

This 3rd Generation Train Engineer System was developed and patented by ARISTO CRAFT and has been used since 2009 by many G-gauge Garden Railroaders worldwide. It is a proven system that allows control of locomotive and locomotive features such as sound, direction, lighting, couplers and smoke...to name a few. Constant speed or 'cruise'/engineer in cab feature is part of the TE experience.

While it was originally developed for the outdoor G-gauge railroaders, any scale operator including 0/0-27 can use the system...indoors or outside.

The range of 'signal' is 300 feet and does not require line-of-sight for communication between locomotive receiver and transmitter to be effective and the receiver is small enough to fit in an RMT BEEP diesel. In factory tests, the BEEP, in the slowest speed setting, took almost 30 minutes to run the complete circle of O-gauge track.

The TE is an RF system...radio frequency...through the 'air' and does not require any wires, trackside amplifiers or other accessories to operate...just the handheld transmitter and the receiver board in your locomotive. Very simple.

Track power is provided by your power supply directly to the track as usual but the handheld transmitter acts as the 'control' of locomotive speed not the power supply.

The TE system has capacity for 100 individual locomotive ID's, 50 on each of the 2 channels currently available.

There are approx. 1024 speed steps and each locomotive may be programmed to run within speed parameters that you decide.

You can operate a locomotive consist of various manufacturers together with all operating at the same speed. One receiver is needed for each locomotive but only one transmitter controls them all.

The TE system includes a capacitor that will overcome momentary power lapses due to dirty track etc. without affecting locomotive operation.

No battery/BCR is needed in locomotive.

The TE system can also control track switches/turnouts and other accessories.

Conventional locomotives just need a receiver installed.

Command and DCS equipped locomotives need to replace existing 'boards' with the TE receiver. It is a fairly easy installation and original parts can be saved for possible re-installation of original equipment at a later date if desired.

The handheld transmitter includes a graphic display board with locomotive information, ID, speed graph etc. and features a push button keypad rather than control knobs for easier operation.
